Using an animal model provides a controlled system to evaluate how alcalase derived egg white hydrolysates influence gut microbiota and related metabolic outcomes. Although previous work has shown that egg derived peptides can modulate microbial diversity and metabolite production in rats, the specific effects of alcalase generated hydrolysates remain largely unexplored. Because rat models reflect diet microbiota interactions and allow assessment of both microbial and metabolic responses, they are well suited for investigating how alcalase treated egg white hydrolysates impact gut microbial balance and overall gut health.
