Data from the project "Projekt Yngre geometriska kartor" 1680–1700

The project for the younger geometrical maps, which took place between 2012 and 2015, aimed to make the content of these maps accessible to both the scientific community and the public.

The large-scale maps were created during the period 1680–1700. The largest collection is held at the Swedish National Archives, within the Land Survey's archives. Additional maps are scattered across other public archives and private ownerships. The total number of map images is approximately 5,000.

The project was undertaken on behalf of Vitterhetsakademiens kommitté för historiska kartor. Funding was provided by the Royal Swedish Academy of Letters, History and Antiquities and Riksbankens Jubileumsfond (principal investigator: Clas Tollin). The project collaborated with the Swedish Land Survey (Lantmäteriet) and the Swedish National Archives.
