This dataset is based on the long-term ecological monitoring system collected and generated by the Yunnan Provincial Field Scientific Observation and Research Station of the Yuanjiang Dry Hot Valley ecosystem. The selection of the sample site has been verified by industry experts to ensure its representativeness and typicality in the typical sparse tree shrub grassland ecosystem of a dry hot valley. The data collection and quality control strictly follow the "Observation Specification for Water Environment of Terrestrial Ecosystems" formulated by the China Ecosystem Research Network (CERN). During the observation process, professional technicians are equipped to use standardized instruments and equipment to conduct long-term observations of the hydrological field through rain and tree stem runoff. After on-site verification, the raw data is regularly sorted and entered, eliminating outliers and invalid values. All data is ultimately archived in Excel format to ensure readability and sharing of the data. The dataset covers the period from January 1, 2013 to December 31, 2022, and is located at the Yunnan Provincial Field Scientific Observation and Research Station in the Yuanjiang Dry Hot Valley Ecosystem (geographic coordinates: 102 ° 10'E, 23 ° 28'N). The dataset consists of one data file, which records 7304 observation data with a data volume of 690 KB. The row labels in the table represent the time series records of each observation event, and the column labels include: date and time (year month day), forest rainfall (unit: mm), breakthrough rain (unit: mm), and trunk runoff (unit: mm), with an accuracy of 0.01mm. During the data collection process, due to extreme weather conditions, damage to rainwater collection buckets, and other reasons, there were some missing data in certain periods, which have been marked as NA in the data file. In addition, due to the limited measurement accuracy of weighing electronic scales and susceptibility to interference from natural environmental factors, there may be some measurement errors in the raw data. To reduce reading deviation, each weighing is carried out after the electronic scale emits a prompt sound, the display screen value is stable and there is no obvious fluctuation, to ensure the stability and reliability of the data. This dataset is stored in a universal Excel format and does not require special plugins or niche software support.
