资源简介:
Escherichia coli strain 101-1. This strain is an enteroaggregative E. coli (EAEC) pathogen. It was provided by Dr. James Nataro (The University of Maryland School of Medicine) and isolated from an outbreak in Japan. EAEC is an emerging diarrheal pathogen implicated in traveler's diarrhea and endemic diarrhea in developing and industrialized countries. Colonization of the intestinal mucosa is followed by the elaboration of enterotoxins and cytotoxins. This strain is an atypical EAEC and does not contain any of the previously identified virulence factors; however, it causes a disease that is similar to that induced by other EAEC isolates. Genome sequencing included two libraries - a small insert library (4-5 kb) and a large insert library (10-12 kb) from which 22,016 and 44,654 reads were sequenced, respectively.
