HIGHLIGHTS (1) The line-scan mode is optimal for samples with uniform particle size and regular structural patterns (e.g., laminated textures), while the point/area-scan modes are better suited for samples exhibiting scattered particle distribution and irregular structural characteristics. (2) The point-scan mode is the most time-efficient, followed by line-scan and area-scan modes. The accuracy of imaging is closely related to the scanning area and step size settings, and it is inversely proportional to testing time. (3) Chemical imaging maps allow for intuitive observation of the spatial distribution of various minerals (1–2 μm), revealing their paragenetic relationships and alteration features.
