The present invention is related to the field of mechanics with elements or general measures to ensure the proper functioning of machines and safety devices in general， in conjunction with controlling or running a machine through means such as photocells or other sensitive devices without mechanical contact using image capture devices The invention discloses a machine vision based emergency stop system for a vertical cutting saw . The system consists of three clearly differentiated modules: video acquisition system， video processing system and actuation system， where the video acquisition system consists of a web camera that is positioned directly above the vertical cutting saw， which records a video that is sent to the system processing to be analyzed in real time， identifying how the operator manipulates the element around the vertical saw in a defined danger region using colored gloves such as blue， green or purple. The actuation system receives an audio or alert signal which allows it to activate an emergency mechanism to stop the machine.
