资源简介:
The aim of this bibliography is to present a comprehensive and up-to-date list of the writings of Richard Wollheim (1923–2003). It does not claim to be complete, and readers are invited to submit to the author any omissions or corrections. An earlier bibliography of Wollheim's writings, compiled by Eddie Yeghiayan in the late 1980s, provided a foundation for this updated listing. Yeghiayan’s bibliography covers Wollheim’s earlier writings, especially his philosophical work. The current bibliography incorporates this material and includes Wollheim’s later philosophy (post-1980s) plus additional writings. DOIs (Digital Object Identifiers) have been added to citations of digitised academic papers. The present bibliography consolidates Wollheim's academic and non-academic oeuvre. By doing so, it attempts to capture a significant body of literature dedicated to book reviews and art criticism, as well as public commentary and opinion published in non-academic sources. The bibliography excludes published letters (e.g. letters to the editor) that Wollheim had written and non-transcribed sound recordings. It does however include published transcripts of broadcasts, lectures and public talks, including some aired on BBC Radio.Content is arranged under the following section headings:Authored Books and PamphletsBooks Edited, Introduced and Translated by WollheimPosthumous CollectionsBook Chapters and SectionsJournal Articles / Academic PapersReviews and CriticismCommentary, Opinion and RecollectionsSix of the seven headings refer to publication types. 'Authored books' cover all titles authored solely by Wollheim including single lectures published in pamphlet format. Most book chapters were published in academic books. The 'Reviews and Criticism' section combines reviews published in academic and non-academic sources. The final (thematic) section refers to material aimed predominantly at a non-academic audience. In the terminology of contemporary academia, this content would be described as "public engagement." References are listed in chronological order under these headings.Multiple entries are provided for titles published in more than one source. This means a paper first published in an academic journal will be listed separately as a book chapter (i.e., if it was later republished in an edited book). Wollheim often revised and updated earlier versions of his papers. Some papers, especially Wollheim’s more important papers, were reprinted multiple times and in several different sources. For republished papers, a note is provided referring the reader to their separate listing(s) in the bibliography.
