Complete genome sequence of bacteriophages Merry and Sunny infecting Microbacterium sp. isolated from an alkaline commercial outdoor algal pond

Nannochloris sp. is cultured in large outdoor raceways harboring diverse microbial communities. A strain of Microbacterium sp. was isolated from these ponds and demonstrated algicidal properties against Nannochloris sp. in laboratory conditions. We isolated 2 bacteriophages lysing this strain of Microbacterium sp. Merry and Sunny have genome size of 53.6kb with a GC content of 67.8%.
