Our goal of this project was to shorten improve the breeding period in Japanese cedar. For this purpose, we collected the expressed sequence tags (ESTs) form several organs (cambium, apical stem, needle, root, male-flower) of this species. The collected ESTs were assembled and used as "reference sequence" for gene expression analysis/SNP discovery.
