资源简介:
This dataset is the result of the research carried out by Silvia Sánchez Calderón (National University of distance Education, henceforth UNED) and Aurelia Carranza Márquez (UNED) in the frame of the Teaching Innovation Group OLGA (GID2018-3 Innovative Didactic Group for Open Linguistic Glossary Applications). Within the frame of this group and the Teaching Innovation Project “Cómo Mejorar tu Producción Escrita en Inglés a Través de Herramientas de Autocorrección Online y de Acceso Abierto” (How to Improve Your English Writing Through Open-Access Online Self-Correction Tools), research has been conducted on the pedagogical value of 11 online and open access English grammar checkers (henceforth, GCs). Our research focuses on the grammatical difficulties that characterize the English writing of Spanish university students at the B1 proficiency level. In addition, it explores how ten freely available online grammar-checking tools respond to these difficulties in terms of detection and correction. The study is based on a corpus of fify texts written by learners according to two textual genres —informal emails and website articles— which were examined to identify recurrent error trends and potential genre-related differences. By comparing the feedback provided by the selected GCs, the study also considers their effectiveness as resources to support autonomous language development. Each text was submitted to Grammarly, Hemingway, LanguageTool, Outwrite, PaperRater, ProWritingAid, Reverso, SlickWrite, SpellCheckPlus, and VirtualWritingTutor for analysis. Autocrit was excluded from this study as its focus was primarily on literary style.
