Live attenuated Lassa Virus Vaccine Candidate

Develop a live attenuated Lassa Virus vaccine candidate by replacing the L segment intergenic region with the S segment intergenic region and codon deoptimization of the glycoprotein. The candidate vaccine, called LASV/IGR-CD, was attenuated in guinea pigs but able to induce, after a single administration of a low dose, protection against a lethal challenge with Josiah strain of Lassa virus. LASV/IGR-CD was stable during serial passages in the FDA approved cell line, Vero cells, for production of human vaccines.
