Parkes observations for project P863 semester 2014OCTS

In this proposal we request observations from the Parkes radio telescope to survey time variability in the radio emission from a sample of pulsars. The aim is to elucidate different phenomena occurring in the pulsars' magnetospheres. We have chosen a sample of ten pulsars that exhibit various characteristics of the state-changing phenomenon (some are moding pulsars and some are intermittent pulsars). We plan to use the dual-band receiver that will simultaneously provide us with information at widely separated frequency bands.

本观测提案中，我们申请使用帕克斯射电望远镜（Parkes radio telescope）对一批脉冲星（pulsars）的射电辐射时域变异性开展巡天研究。本研究旨在阐明脉冲星磁层中出现的各类物理现象。我们选取了10颗展现出状态转换现象不同特征的脉冲星作为样本，其中部分为模式变换脉冲星，部分为间歇脉冲星。我们计划采用双波段接收机，该设备可同时获取宽间隔频段的观测数据。
