The article studies the properties of small-scale fluctuations in the probability density for measurements of the Z-component of the Earth's magnetic field over a 24-hour period before a strong earthquake that occurred on November 14, 2021, in southern Iran. It demonstrates the occurrence of a persistent maximum in the entropy of the measured field several hours before the event. The article also assesses the duration of the time intervals during which the compression of the lithospheric plates in the area of the hypocentre of the upcoming earthquake intensified and weakened.
