Athlete mental health

This spreadsheet contains data from 483 university students (228 competitive athletes, 255 non-athletes) on measures tapping into alexithymia (20 item Toronto Alexithymia Scale, Bagby, Parker, & Taylor, 1994), sensory processing sensitivity (Highly Sensitive Person Scale, Aron & Aron, 1997); anxiety sensitivity (Taylor et al., 2007); childhood emotional abuse (emotional abuse subscale of the Childhood Trauma Questionnaire, Bernstein et al., 2003), emotionally abusive coaching (Coach-athlete Relationship Emotional Maltreatment Scale, Dieze et al. 2015); pandemic impacts (modified from Coronavirus Impact Scale, Stoddard et al., 2023); and anxiety/depression (Depression Anxiety Stress Scales-21, Lovibond & Lovibond, 1995). Also included is demographic information (age, sex, citizenship, race) and sports involvement.
