Normalized gene expression values

Human lung adenocarcinoma cells (A549) and human monocytic cells (THP-1) were infected with H3N23 influenza virus A virus. Transcriptome analysis were performed by next generation RNA sequencing of three replicates each for infected A549 cells at 4, 8 and 24h p.i. and infected THP-1 cells at 4, 8, 12 and 24h p.i., and corresponding set of non-infected controls. RNA was transcribed into a double-stranded cDNA library and then sequenced on an Illumina HiSeq 4000 using a paired-end 150 run. Reads from RNAseq were quality checked with FastQC, then trimmed using Trimgalore and trimmed reads were mapped to the human genome (ENSMBL hg38 release 111) using STAR with default settings. Mapped reads were counted at the gene level using RsubRead, then normalized, and log₂ transformed using DESeq2.
