本数据集受西北坡地与平原植被委员会（西北流域管理委员会下属分支机构）委托，于「西北坡地与平原植被测绘国家遗产信托项目」框架内编制完成。（VIS编号：804；澳大利亚和新西兰土地信息委员会（ANZLIC）编号：ANZNS0359090013）

土地利用/土地覆盖与植被的关联关系以统一属性进行评估，并以多边形矢量数据形式呈现。

本次测绘涵盖的属性如下：
土地覆盖/土地利用（11大类，含53个子类）；
林木更新（5大类）；
林木与灌木冠层密度（12大类）；
林下层植被（9大类）；
耕作历史（24大类）；
西北坡地植被群系。
