资源简介:
Sub-Saharan Africa remains the epicenter of the HIV/AIDS epidemic with Nigeria ranked second after South Africa in the number of people living with HIV/AIDS. The Society for Family Health (SFH) initiated the Strengthening HIV Prevention Services (SHiPS) program to improve the health of people by reducing the prevalence of HIV among those most at-risk and vulnerable to HIV. The researchers reviewed all literature related to the region and topic of focus, as well as conducted interviews and focus groups to collect qualitative data from respondents. The respondents included in this study were IDUs, MSM, and FSW aged 18-49 years of age collected using a snow balling sampling method. The ultimate objective of this study was to generate relevant information about the determinants of the behaviours exhibited by most at-risk populations, contexts under which they practice these behaviours and their value systems, with the aim of providing evidence for improved programming.
