This dataset is stored in Excel format and consists of 8 worksheets. It covers the development, utilization and hydropower construction issues of Yamzho Yumco, including various data such as meteorological factors, water level changes, drawdown depth and power generation conditions. Yamzho Yumco is the largest inland lake on the southern bank of the Brahmaputra River, with an altitude of approximately 4441.3 meters. Hydropower development in Tibet was still in its infancy by 1975, with no hydropower stations exceeding 10,000 kilowatts in capacity. The total installed capacity of existing hydropower stations in Tibet was less than 80,000 kilowatts, which failed to meet the growing electricity demand, especially with limited power generation capacity during dry seasons. This dataset is the digitized collation outcome of data from the first Qinghai-Tibet Scientific Expedition, aiming to provide basic data support for relevant research and decision-making.
