Traditional medicine perception and use among conventional medicine practitioners and their collaboration with traditional healers in Lubumbashi (Democratic Republic of Congo)

The lack of information about collaboration or interactions between conventional and traditional medicine caregivers is among the major barriers in planning actions and strategies to achieve integrative medicine in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The present investigation aimed to study the perception and use of TM by conventional medicine caregivers, their collaboration with traditional healers (THs), and their opinions on a possible integration of tTHs into the conventional hospitals or health centers.
Semi-structured interview surveys were carried out over two years, in Lubumbashi among 970 and 116 conventional and traditional medicine caregivers respectiveky.
