This project will protect and conserve Australia’s National Heritage listed places through contributing towards the rehabilitation of significant natural areas which are known to support EPBC Act listed species. In 2013 a bushfire burnt almost 90 per cent of Warrumbungle National Park. The Green Army team will focus on significantly improving erosion issues in the park, improving visitor access tracks, reducing the competitive impact of invasive weed species and assisting National Parks and Wildlife Service staff with pest control and monitoring to inform and better target future strategies for their management and engage with the wider community across a range of activities, including citizen-science fauna monitoring activities.
