Reclaiming wastewater treatment plant effluent for reuse is essential for achieving water sustainability. This project aimed to improve understanding of treatment and management requirements for reclaimed water distribution by running a long-term simulated reclaimed water distribution system experiment. Metagenomic samples were collected from water, biofilm and sediment in the distribution system and analyzed for community structure, function and presence of antibiotic resistance genes and pathogens.
