Streptomyces sp. P3 strain:P3 Genome sequencing. Streptomyces sp. P3 strain:P3

This strain (P3) was isolated from common scab diseased tuber in Korea and identified to genus of Streptomyces based on its 16s rRNA gene sequences. Interestingly, this strain only had tomA gene cluster with transposon sites in flanking regions when we did PCR using specific primer sets for pathogenicity genes that induce scab symptoms on potato tuber. It means that tomA gene should be transferred from another pathogenic Streptomyces or other bacteria and also indicates evolution of pathogenicity by acquiring virulence-related genes via horizontal gene transfer. Thus, we decided to analysis whole genome sequences of this strain and publishing its draft genome sequences into NCBI system. We will explore possibility that tomA gene may relate to other pathogenicity genes such as txtA and txtB using this sequences.
