Seasonal temperature variation and lipid profiles in the shore crab, Pachygrapsus crassipes: Research data

This dataset contains morphometric measurements and fatty acid profiles of the intertidal shore crab Pachygrapsus crassipes, collected in southern California between February 2019 and March 2021, along with corresponding environmental air and water temperature records. A total of 215 crabs were collected. Thirteen specimens were excluded from fatty acid analyses because they were compromised or unavailable for analysis, leaving 202 specimens. Absolute fatty acid concentration analyses used a subset of 145 specimens processed with the C21:0 internal standard following identification of co-elution issues with the earlier C17:0 standard. Percent composition analyses used the full 202-specimen fatty acid dataset. Included files: FAME Data.xlsx: Crab morphometric measurements, fatty acid data, and associated analytical variables.
