Comparative Analysis of Breast Tumor Microbiome in Black non-Hispanic (BNH) and White-non-Hispanic (WNH) Women

The goal of the study is to characterize breast tissue microbiome from Triple Negative Breast cancer (TNBC) and Triple Positive Breast Cancer (TPBC) patients of White non-Hispanic (WNH) and Black non-Hispanic (BNH) women cohorts.The relevance of this study is to underpin whether the microbiota in the breast tissue exhibit a race- specific differences in diversity and abundance levels of specific microbial groups in tumor tissue as compared to matched normal tissue adjacent to tumor (NAT). This information will be useful in identifying specific microbes responsible for breast dysbiosis leading to tumor so that therapeutics could be developed to mitigate TNBC racial disparity for BNH population cohort.
