Maribyrnong River Rehabilitation Project

Fairbairn Park, Aberfeldie Park, Afton Street Conservation Park, Tea Gardens Reserve and The Maribyrnong Valley Parklands form an extensive open space corridor along the Maribyrnong River in MelbourneÍs inner western suburbs. The Green Army project will strengthen the plantings throughout the park to define spaces, provide more shade for users and habitat for local fauna in accordance with the respective site Management Plans. The Friends of Maribyrnong River and Afton Street Conservation Park regularly undertake works throughout the corridor and will be able to achieve greater outcomes with the additional labour resource of the Green Army.费尔贝恩公园（Fairbairn Park）、阿伯菲尔德公园（Aberfeldie Park）、阿夫顿街保护公园（Afton Street Conservation Park）、茶园保护区（Tea Gardens Reserve）以及马里比农谷公园群（The Maribyrnong Valley Parklands），共同构成了澳大利亚墨尔本内西区沿马里比农河（Maribyrnong River）延展的大型开放空间廊道。本次绿色军团项目（Green Army project）将依照各场地的管理规划（Management Plans），强化公园内的植被种植，以此明确空间边界、为游园民众提供更多遮荫区域，并为本地野生动物打造适宜的栖息生境。马里比农河与阿夫顿街保护公园之友（Friends of Maribyrnong River and Afton Street Conservation Park）此前已定期在该廊道内开展各类管护工作，借助绿色军团新增的人力支持，该组织将能够达成更为显著的治理成效。
