Annotated record of the detailed examination of Mn deposits from DSDP Site 40, Leg 5 (Cores 5-40-1, 5-40-11)@en

Site 40 was located by the JOIDES Pacific Advisory Panel in the region between the Molokai and Clarion Fracture Zones with the objective of recovering a continuous sediment core for the paleontologic and biostratigraphic study of the variation in sediment components at the transition between the North Pacific gyral and the Equatorial Current System.40号站位由综合大洋钻探计划太平洋咨询专家组（JOIDES Pacific Advisory Panel）选定，布设区域介于莫洛凯断裂带与克拉里昂断裂带之间，本次钻探的目标为获取连续沉积物岩心，用于开展北太平洋环流系统与赤道流系过渡带内沉积物组分变化的古生物学及生物地层学研究。
