Sustained Adoption of QR-Code Payments in Mobile Banking: Evidence from QRIS Users
收藏资源简介:
The Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard (QRIS) is a national QR-code payment system designed to enable interoperable, secure, and reliable digital transactions across mobile banking platforms in Indonesia. While QRIS adoption has grown rapidly, sustaining post-adoption usage remains a critical challenge for banks and digital payment ecosystems. This study examines the determinants of continuance intention to use QRIS in mobile banking by analyzing the effects of social influence and performance expectancy on user satisfaction, and the subsequent impact of satisfaction on continuance intention. Satisfaction is further tested as a mediating mechanism between the antecedent constructs and continuance intention. The proposed model is evaluated using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) based on survey data collected from 160 active QRIS users in Jakarta. Measurement model assessment confirms adequate reliability and convergent validity, while structural model results indicate that social influence and performance expectancy significantly affect user satisfaction, and satisfaction significantly influences continuance intention. Social influence also demonstrates a significant direct effect on continuance intention, whereas performance expectancy does not, although its indirect effect through satisfaction is significant. The findings suggest that sustained QRIS usage in mobile banking environments is driven primarily by satisfaction formation and socially reinforced usage norms rather than performance expectations alone. These results provide practical insights for banks and system designers to enhance QR payment reliability, user experience, and long-term engagement.
