The KalaDrug-R project is producing a reference Leishmania donovani genome and carrying out a preliminary exploration of population structure. The GeMInI project aims to characterize the populations of Leishmania donovani in Nepal and India that are causing clinical polymorphism despite apparent genomic homogeneity. To understand this diverse severity we characterize the diversity in these pathogen populations on 2 levels; genomics and metabolomics level. This data will be integrated and linked back to clinical polymorpism to allow design of better tools and thus globally boost disease control. . This data is part of a pre-publication release.
