VPRS 15703 Register of Applications for the Issue of Authority for Treasurer's Receipts

This series dealt with the issuing of authorities for Treasurer's receipts presumably when land was alienated. Details given are the name of the person, the location and area of the land, the correspondence or file number (with where relevant the marking of CS for closer settlement), the date sent for description and return (from the Survey Branch), details of the dates of title searches to discover details of any mortgage or encumbrance, the name of the agent (usually a solicitor), the fee paid and how the file was disposed of. Disposal was most often to the Receiver of Revenue and Paymaster (R and P) or the Secretary of the Department.
