This project provides raw PacBio HiFi long-read data and genome assembly of the enterohemorrhagic Escherichia coli O157:H7 strain EDL933 with a targeted deletion of the ehxA (enterohemolysin) gene. The ehxA deletion mutant was constructed using CRISPR-Cas9 to investigate the role of RTX-family toxins in red blood cell morphological remodeling and thrombogenesis. These data support functional genomics studies of bacterial virulence factors and their contribution to host-pathogen interactions.
