Survey Instrument for Decision-Making and Evacuation for Hurricane Ida with Variations Used for Hurricanes Florence, Michael, Barry, Dorian, Ian, and Idalia

This survey is designed to capture information about people's behavior in hurricane evacuation across 4 sections: location at the time of the disaster, evacuation behavior, evacuation decisions and related reasoning, and household attributes. This survey can be reused by other researchers looking to capture similar data across other hurricanes. This work is unique in capturing this range of data related to decision making and timing for investigation in individual hurricanes and for comparison there with other types of data, as well as for comparison across different hurricanes. The goal of such efforts is to support better understandings of evacuation decision making, movement, and timing by researchers and practitioners.
