China Shandong Peninsula Coastal City Protected Areas Network Dataset (2022-2023)

(1) This dataset organizes and collects data on the distribution of protected areas, resistance surfaces composed of ecological suitability elements, resistance surfaces composed of anthropogenic disturbance elements, as well as constructed corridors of protected areas, ecological pinchpoints, and obstacle points in seven coastal cities on the Shandong Peninsula of China. (2) We first collected the basic dataset for analysis and processing; second, we rasterized the environmental data using ArcGis software, on the basis of which, we reclassified the environmental data values using the natural breakpoint method and transformed them into resistance surface data; third, we obtained the importance weights of different resistance surfaces through the AHP method, and formed the comprehensive resistance surfaces based on the superposition of the weights; and lastly, we applied the least-cost model and circuit theory to generate connectivity corridors, pinch points and obstacle points between protected areas. (3) The resolution of the raster data is 30 m × 30 m. (4) This dataset can be used to assess the important role of the coastal protected area network in realizing global ecological conservation goals.
