Endotracheal suctioning by closed suction system in split ventilation of two ARDS patients – lung simulators study

This dataset contains the following data: Peak Inspiratory Pressure (PIP), Positive End-expiratory Pressure (PEEP), Plateau Pressure (PPLAT), Tidal Volume (TV) per respiratory cycle. This laboratory measurements were done in the following set-up: The ventilator (Draeger Evita V600) was connected (from output port) to the pneumatic splitter Ventil. Two Ventil outputs were connected to left and right artificial lungs (SmartLung 2000) by inspiratory limbs of the breathing circuits. Expiratory limbs from the artificial lungs were connected (by one-way valves) together to the ventilator (backport). The set-up simulates split ventilation - two "patients" are ventiated by one ventilator by a pneumatic splitter/divider. Simiulations were done by different endotracheal tubes (ETT) and diffrent closed suction catheters (CSS) as well as different Ventil dividing ratios (right to left R:L). The artificial lungs had set reduced compliance to simulate ARDS.
