资源简介:
Porphyromonas species are often associated with uterine diseases in dairy cows, particularly metritis, a postpartum uterine infection characterized by microbial dysbiosis, fever, and malodorous uterine discharge. Metritis can progress to endometritis and subsequent infertility later in the postpartum period. This condition involves disruption of the uterine microbiome, with notable overgrowth of Gram-negative anaerobes such as Fusobacterium necrophorum, Bacteroides pyogenes, and Porphyromonas levii. Although these opportunistic pathogens frequently co-occur, the mechanisms driving their simultaneous proliferation and contribution to disease pathogenesis remain unclear. In the present study, we aimed to investigate the interactions among these uterine pathogens, focusing on their growth dynamics, survival, and virulence potential.
