MPA OOS Project, Seascape Data, California, 2002-08-15 to 2021-02-15, 5km

Data in this collection includes monthly Seascapes for California MPAs and derived data from that dataset. Seascapes are coherent bodies of water at the landscape scale that are characterized by their physical, biological, and chemical properties. Seascapes are created from remotely sensed data as well as predictive models. Missing values can be due to features like cloud cover. This data includes: sea surface temperature (SST), photosynthetically active radiation (PAR), sea surface salinity, absolute dynamic topography (ADT), ice contribution, chromophoric dissolved organic material (CDOM), chlorophyll a (Chl a), MODIS normalized fluorescence line height (nFLH), and the nFLH:Chl a ratio. The datasets span from 2002-08-15 to 2021-02-15. The Seascapes product is a 5km satellite imagery product and for the purposes of this project has been bounded at longitude -125 to -116.5 and latitude 31.5 to 42.5. The dataset includes associated latitudes, but not longitude since the MPAs in this study are all located along the California coast line.This submission includes 3 data tables:(1) LTM_OOS_MPA_seascapes_monthly.csv which includes monthly Seascapes for California MPAs. Not all California MPAs will have Seascape values, while some MPAs can have 1-6 different Seascapes depending on the size of the MPA.(2) LTM_OOS_MPA_MPA_SDI.csv which includes quarterly and yearly Shannon Diversity Indices for Seascapes and PISCO benthic survey data for California MPAs.
