EcoPop_ER_Hist_Prov (Beta Version)

The EcoPop_ER_Hist_Prov database is designed to provide new informational tools for the study of the relationships between environmental factors and demographic dynamics in the Emilia-Romagna region. The dataset collects and makes available monthly historical time series of demographic events at the provincial level (births, deaths, stillbirths, and marriages), starting from the year 1862. In the currently available version, the database covers the period 1862–1923 and is structured to allow for future temporal extensions. The development of the database is promoted within the framework of the project “MEMOREC – Climate Memory and Resilience in Emilia-Romagna”, funded by the University of Bologna through Alma CaReS funds, and of the PRIN 2022 project “Weather and Climate Vulnerability in Italian Demographic History”, funded by the European Union – NextGenerationEU under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), Mission 4 Education and Research, Component 2 From Research to Business, Investment 1.1 (DDN No. 104 of 2 February 2022), proposal code 2022AMC93A – CUP J53D23009270006.
