The mounting member of the present invention is for wrapping and mounting a pollution control element (30) in a casing (20)， and provides a mat (1) made from inorganic fiber material， and an aggregated substance (5) containing an organic binder and inorganic fine particles that is impregnated throughout most of the mat (1).
