Total number of dengue fever cases in South Korea 2001-2019

In 2019, there were 273 recorded cases of dengue fever in South Korea, one of the highest numbers reported. As it is a mosquito-borne tropical disease, it is not common in South Korea, however it is still classified as a Group IIV infectious disease. Such diseases may be newly emerging in the country, or may have been contracted abroad, and then carried in. Health authorities must be notified upon diagnosis.
