To gain insights into the functions of non repeat-derived Piwi-interacting RNAs (piRNAs) in Aedes aegypti we blocked a highly abundant piRNA (propiR1) with antisense oligonucleotides in the somatic cell line Aag2 and assessed global changes in gene expression by RNAseq.
