<P>Born in Germany in 1846, Max Littmann became the president of the Nixdorff-Krein Manufacturing Company (St. Louis, Missouri). He died August 6, 1921, in Germany. One of his children was Bernhard Littmann, who died March 28, 1969. Bernhard's son Dr. Lewis Ezekiel Littmann was a longtime St. Louis doctor who died July 7, 1987, in St. Louis at the age of 74.</P>
<P>Papers contain five certificates of Dr. Lewis E. Littmann dated 1938-1986; Washington University diploma of Lewis Ezekiel Littmann, June 8, 1937; resolution of the Nixdorff-Krein Manufacturing Company in memory of Bernhard Littmann, April 22, 1969; memorial card of the Nixdorff-Krein Manufacturing Company upon the death of their president Max Littmann, which occurred in Heidelberg, Germany, August 6, 1921; program of the awards ceremony and reception honoring field faculty panel members, preceptors and community agencies, held by the Department of Community Medicine, St. Louis University School of Medicine, May 29, 1974; <I>St. Louis Globe-Democrat Sunday Magazine</I> clipping titled "Quit Bridge to Run a Garage: Miss Marguerite Cohn Studied Under Work, Taught and Lectured on the Popular Card Game in St. Louis and on a Circuit of Three Other Cities for Five Years, Until the Offer Was Made for Her to Take Charge of an Automobile Servicing Station, of Which She Is Now the Proprietor," January 22, 1933 (Miss Cohn resided at 7479 Kingsbury Blvd.; she was proprietor of the Delwest Garage at 540 DeBaliviere Ave.; she was Lewis Littmann's aunt-in-law); envelope of the Arkansas State Board of Health addressed to Miss Marguerite Cohn, 7426 Parkdale, St. Louis, Missouri, postmarked April 7-8, 1943; and photocopy of a stock chart of the Nixdorff-Krein Manufacturing Company, circa 1997.</P>
