Overtourism And Culture Resilience: A Systematic Literature Review Using Bibliometrics

This study seeks to fill this gap by conducting a systematic review of the literature in accordance with the PRISMA guidelines. Using the Scopus database, 400 papers published between 1974 and 2024 were analyzed in a quantitative systematic literature review employing a bibliometric technique in June 2025. We specifically examined the progression of overtourism and cultural resilience studies by investigating (a) published research, (b) titles of sources, (c) types of sources and documents, and (d) keywords from authors.
