The project aims to identify genes coding for novel or key enzymes with the capacity to digest complex plant biomass such as polysaccharides into simple mono/oligomers from three different breeds of camel. The metagenomic approach hassignificant advantage to explore the unexplored group of Glycoside Hydrolases (GH) enzymes that specifically cleave beta-1-4 glycosidic bonds for industrial scale biofuels production . The camels are mostly observed in dry desert and can survive without water more than week. The specific microbial community may develop in gutwhich could have more change of novel and significant cellulase. The different breeds of camel will be used in study due to different food habitand climate conditions. The camels of different geographical locations will also provide theinformation of microbial community rich to provide better GH activity.
