Brazilian federal environmental infraction records linked to firm industry classification 1981 to 2025

This repository provides a harmonized dataset of Brazilian federal environmental infraction records involving corporate entities, linked to firm-level industry classification using Brazil’s National Classification of Economic Activities (CNAE 2.0), covering the period 1981–2025. The released dataset comprises 225,646 corporate infraction records corresponding to 95,915 distinct corporate taxpayer identifiers (CNPJ). Exact deterministic linkage to registry-derived CNAE codes resulted in successful matches for 99.7% of records at the row level and 99.4% at the unique corporate identifier level.
