Portuguese Foreign Policy towards the Maghreb (1990-2020)

EN: This database focuses on the discourse of Portuguese political and diplomatic elites on the Maghreb for the period 1990-2020. It refers to the following elites: Presidents of the Republic, Prime Ministers, Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Ministers of National Defence. It includes (i) a brief socio-educational description of the elites and (ii) speeches and documents issued and selected by the offices of the aforementioned positions. The selection of documents was based on their relevance to understanding Portugal's foreign policy towards the Mediterranean and the Maghreb. PT: Esta base de dados centra-se no discurso das elites políticas e diplomáticas portuguesas sobre o Magrebe no período de 1990 a 2020. Refere-se às seguintes elites: Presidentes da República, Primeiros-Ministros, Ministros dos Negócios Estrangeiros e Ministros da Defesa Nacional. Inclui (i) uma breve descrição socioeducativa das elites e (ii) discursos e documentos emitidos e selecionados pelos gabinetes dos cargos acima mencionados. A seleção dos documentos baseou-se na sua relevância para a compreensão da política externa de Portugal em relação ao Mediterrâneo e ao Magrebe.
