Analysing the records of Advanced LIGO and Virgo gravitational observatories, we found a specific time-domain asymmetry, inherent only to the signals of their gravitational detectors. It turned out that the detector signals include a significant (–6 dB) component, which has the properties of records of reliably recognised gravitational waves. This allows us to argue that the gravitational noise is primarily due to the processes of merging astronomical objects.The description of the uploaded files:Filename: grabst.png. The graphical abstract explains all the procedures we perform.Filename: Gravitational Noise.7z. The Windows version of the program which is carrying out all the computations.Filename: H-H1_GWOSC_16KHZ_R1-1185389792-32.wav. This is an original LIGO signal (Hanford detector) containing the waveform of the confirmed gravitational-wave event GW170729. We filtered it with the low-pass 5-stages FIR filter yielding the next file:Filename: H1_filt.wav. A filtered signal (size S=524288 samples) enables us to extract a GW waveform. The waveform was extracted twice (with & without time reversal). Extracted waveforms are used as the reference patternsFilename: stereo2.wav. Separated asymmetric and symmetric components give an idea of how the noise and gravitational background differ. In the left channel an asymmetric component is recorded. It contains bursts probably corresponding to both resolved and unresolved GW events. The symmetric component is recorded in the right channel, and it is the continuous noise only.Filenames: L-L1_GWOSC_16KHZ_R1-1185389792-32.wav; V-V1_GWOSC_16KHZ_R1-1185389792-32.wav. There are the original LIGO and Virgo signals (Livingstone & Virgo detectors). They are filtered through our FIR-filter to yield the next files:Filenames: L1_filt.wav; V1_filt.wav. The filtered files.Filename: music.wav. This is just a music signal. The white noise and the music have also been processed to check the absence of time-domain asymmetry in these cases.Filenames: muz_filt.wav; N_filt.wav. The music signal and the white noise filtered through the FIR filter.
