资源简介:
Data on mean individual seed mass and seed number of Rumex conglomeratus, Rumex crispus, and Rumex obtusifolius from both the native (United Kingdom) and introduced (New Zealand) ranges. Data were collected from natural populations in both ranges and from a common garden experiment in the introduced range. Seed size from the common gardens was compared with maternal seed size from field surveys to assess heritability. Data include the mean individual seed mass and total seed number for both field surveys (Survey Seed Data.csv) and common gardens (Common Garden Seed Data.csv). Field survey data also include precipitation and minimum temperatures for each population as well as plant height for each individual. Metadata, which describes the content of each column in the datasets, can be found in Rumex Seed Data Metadata.csv.These data are associated with the following manuscript:Bufford, JL & Hulme, PE. 2021. Seed size-number trade-offs are absent in the introduced range for three congeneric plant invaders. Journal of Ecology. DOI: 10.1111/1365-2745.13761
