hyBit open data collection

The hyBit Open Data Collection, curated and maintained by OFFIS e.V., provides a FAIR-aligned and openly accessible repository of datasets and simulation models developed within the hyBit project (Hydrogen for Bremen’s Industrial Transformation) and beyond. The collection is designed to support transparent, reproducible, and reusable research on the integration of renewable energy sources, industrial decarbonization, hydrogen infrastructure, and sector-coupled energy systems. The collection combines diverse datasets and models that are essential for analysing the feasibility and operation of industrial hydrogen hubs under realistic conditions. Available resources include historical weather data, photovoltaic system configurations, wind turbine specifications, and electricity consumption profiles of industrial processes in the steel sector. These datasets are complemented by simulation models of electrical and hydrogen networks that enable researchers to investigate energy production, storage, distribution, and consumption across interconnected infrastructures. The collection serves both as a research resource and as a co-development platform. Researchers are encouraged to reuse, adapt, and contribute additional datasets and models, thereby strengthening open science practices and advancing knowledge on hydrogen-enabled industrial transformation and sustainable energy systems.
