NIA1 and NIA2 suppress ABA biosynthesis and signaling pathway (PRJCA038709)

NIA1 and NIA2 are two nitrate reductases that convert nitrate into nitrite, a key step in plant nitrogen assimilation.In this study, we found that NIA1/2 negatively regulate both ABA biosynthesis and ABA signaling pathway.NIA1/2 proteins may serve as crucial modulators that integrate and balance plant growth and stress responses under adverse conditions or nutrient deficiency.
