This dataset provides monthly water quality data for eight parameters of lakes and reservoirs in China from 2000 to 2023. The data was simulated and generated using a random forest model, with comprehensive consideration of climate, soil properties, and the impacts of human activities. The specific parameters include: pH value, dissolved oxygen (DO; unit: mg/L), total nitrogen (TN; unit: mg/L), total phosphorus (TP; unit: mg/L), permanganate index (CODMn; unit: mg/L), turbidity (Tur; unit: Jackson Turbidity Unit, JTU), electrical conductivity (EC; unit: S/m), and dissolved organic carbon (DOC; unit: mg/L). The data is stored in CSV files categorized by lake or reservoir name, and each single file contains the monthly water quality data and geographic coordinates of the corresponding water body.
