DROUGHT PROBLEMS IN THE REPUBLIC OF UZBEKISTAN

This article examines water shortages and the resulting drought in the Republic of Uzbekistan. The world is currently facing a growing threat: devastating megadroughts with prolonged periods of complete lack of precipitation that last for years. It also notes that drought poses an economic, social, and environmental challenge for many countries on all continents, including Uzbekistan. An analysis of precipitation over the past 100 years is provided. In addition, the paper examines Uzbekistan's natural resource issues, which are threatened by population growth and the frequency of extreme weather events, such as dry spells and droughts, as a result of climate change.
